Herts Hawks battled the unbearable hot weather and outlasted Richmond Dukes to win both games of their doubleheader. Amber heat warnings by the Met Office were in place and, despite the 9am first pitch, the temperature was blisteringly hot and rising. Both teams suffered through the difficult conditions and bravely competed to put on an excellent display of baseball.

Game 2 of the doubleheader was a slugfest from the outset that swung back and forth, and could have gone either way.

Belles Baseball beat the Richmond Dukes in a thrilling 7-inning pre-season game at Richmond’s Flood Field on 2nd April 2022. The two teams were evenly matched from the outset with the lead changing hands almost as often as the weather. But it was the Belles who finished the stronger and held off the Dukes’ valiant efforts in a nail-biting climax.
